2006/12/9 Too much to do, too little hours in a day!!!Vendui' all,
EGADS has my schedule been all over the place! I just changed jobs. I'm not working at Fieldbrook Farms here in Dunkirk anymore, I'm now working in the next town over (Fredonia) at a factory called The Carriage House. The pay is much better (even starter pay surprizing enough) and I can at least get overtime hours (and a full 40 hour work week) here without them bitchin' or having to "sign up" for the extra hours (heh, unlike Fieldbrook where you have to sign up for OT and then they turn around and send you home way early, before you even get in 40 hrs). Granted, I must admit I do miss my friends over at Fieldbrook (yes this means you John, Greg (hey you SMILE DAMMIT!!), Judy, Donna, Chris, Gracie, Cathy, Ray, Charolette, Patrick [but you're workin' with me over at Carriage House now, but anyway...] etc etc [and the list goes on and on - literally, everybody you know who you are!]) As far as The Carriage House goes, the morale over here isn't no where's near as high as that of Fieldbrook, the people aren't very friendly - in comparison this place reminds me of a dungeon - but I ain't gonna complain [too much anyway, lol], $$ is $$, right?
I'm still runnin' around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to catch up on everything that's been piling up on me and outright neglected since my move from Portland (OR) to here in NY. I just been to SQ and let in the new applicants over there and posted in a couple boards, have been busy in some of my spare time designing/coding more pages for Ivy Passions Graphics (my graphics website that I still don't have up on the net yet, but hopefully will soon considering I just found a distributer earlier this week [and cut a deal] for my stuff called Novelty Graphics, they'll print and ship orders for me once I get my business set up and online, so that's cool). The next issue I'll have to address is whether I want to find a host or set up my own internet server again for my domain (DynaSync Gateways) of which Ivy Passions and the new website for SQ and my up and coming computer shop (which is still in coding infancy - once I get a majority of this site coded, I'll have to go on another distributer/manufacturer hunt) will be hosted under. And speaking of which, as far as Computer Basics (my one day to be computer component store) is concerned, I only have the home page started, and it's in template version right now coded in HTML 4.0, I want to change it to CSS as soon as I get the visual layout and menu's, graphics all sorted out and placed. I even considered Flash for the galleries of both IPG and CB... maybe even for the photo albums for SQ, but nothing concrete yet, for SQ I may stick with javascript for that and the forums. Heh, or I may just say fuck it all and go with Dynamic HTML for the whole works with javascripting for the interactive areas. If I'm confusing anyone with all this programmer talk don't mind me, I'm trying to sort out my own shit over here and sometimes typing it out helps me a wee bit for the planning stages. In other words, very mild venting to clear my head, lol.
Plus on top of all this I'm still in the recovery stages from about a month back from when my Panda Platinum antivirus went kaput on me and I got a shitload of viruses on my hard drives and had to zero all my drives one at a time. Anyway I got a better antivirus from my bank, Panda Titanium and it's been doing a way better job and keeping out the bullshit, so hopefully I can get this mess all straightened out soon also. Once I get this damned pc of mine running smoothly without bluescreening everytime I make a drive to drive transfer of files I'm gonna be installing my IIS again, which will turn my pc into a server. Once I get that set up I'm gonna get DynaSync Gateways back online so everyone can see the programming stages of all my websites and get a first hand preview of them before they fully hit the net, besides trying to remember to post updates when I do get some work done on these - I'll most likely post that in here on my blog with links.
Well, damn, I guess I have a lot of shit going through my mind tonight; I think this is the most I've written in quite a long while to date! But now ya know what I've been up to lately in the full extent - business entrepreneur, programmer, working stiff is the extent of it all, lol. I'm surprized I've managed some fuck off time on the weekends with one of my buddies over at Fieldbrook (yes Chris I'm talking about you, Ashley and Pat, lol), but everyone needs a break to relax and have fun right? Yeah I thought so too, lol.
Aww fuck.... the damned pilot light in my central furnance blew out. I was wondering why it was suddenly getting frigid in here and the thing hasn't kicked on all night.... wonder if I can page my dad in yahoo...
Ok am back, hopefully my little Titan will at least get the crispiness out of the air in here soon, especially if I back it up with my propane lantern that puts out hella BTU's. I'm sure my pet snake Pandora is silently cussing me out over there in his tank right about now, lol. He sure don't look none too happy. Ooh, there's a difference in the air already TG. Hopefully my dad finds that page soon, lol!!
I'm gonna close out of here for now, it's like nearly 6am here, and go cuddle up in a blanket. The damned pilot on my central furnance won't relight... time to call the gas company instead.
Gajak abbillen,
Drizzt 2006/12/4 Dropping in for an updateVendui' all, Sorry for keeping ya waiting for nearly the entire year for another post from me. Life has been quite hectic lately, as per ususal from me right? Yet again I'm fixing to be changing jobs, again another factory job out here, I'll be getting more info on the situation Monday (tomorrow). Again I'm not on my own pc tonight, I'm at my dad's house - he's been having truble even finding this place and so has my sister so I stuck my link in his favorites list, lol. I really don't have a whole lot to say, other than it's snowing outside and we've probably got a good foot out there on the ground already - and everyone ought to know by now how much I hate snow! Oh, I can say I do have my own apartment out in Dunkirk, NY, I moved in there Oct. 1st officially. Sorry ya don't see me online over the weekends, my friends and family keep me well busy on my days off work, lol. But I'm still the same night owl I used to be, this most recent job I've been looking into is a third shift job (10:30pm to 6am), lol.So, if I do take this third shift job I'll most likely been seen on during the afternoon and early evening before work. I did finally get me some glasses recently so I can actually see what I'm typing, unfortunately they haven't cured the Drizzt-itis very well, lol! Anyway, it's getting late (it's 3:42am here right now) so I'd better get going for now. I'll try to drop in more often with updates, weekly schedule permitting. Gajak abbillen, Drizzt 2006/3/22 The shadow emerges after a long hiatasCiao tutto, (hello everyone - in Italian)
It's been a damn long while since I last managed to scrape the time to write any kind of a diary entry. So, to catch you all up a bit I'll start at the beginning of this year. I think I may have mentioned before I had moved to Fairview, but I don't remember. I'm about as far unpacked and settled as I'm gonna get here. As for my job, I'm still working for Nextel, just recently got assigned yet another new boss - John. He's cool, but I still miss being on Dan's team. The story behind all that: when I started working there and got a posistion out on the main floor I was on Mike's team, known as the Beavers. Well, after a couple weeks team member swapping began to split some of the bigger teams up to more manageable sizes. Hence several new sup's were hired. I was one of the chosen swapee's and was placed on Dan's team, known now as the Bronco's. When that team first started we didn't have a name but our team number was C15. It took a little while to figure a team name, but it ended up the Bronco's. I got to design our team logo once we founded a name. After a little while, team member swapping happened again and I was moved onto the Knight's, team C16, at that time under the supervision of Martin. Martin was cool too, but for him the job was a trial run. He decided he wasn't so fond of the job at trial's end so now my new sup and former Bronco team mate is now John. lol, and that's cutting out 95% of the details just to make a long story really short. So, since I've been there I've been through about 4 sup's and am now on my 5th. The cute thing, people up there are familiar with my graphic abilities and have recently been hinted at to redesign the Knight's logo. *hee hee hee*
Now then, what's coming up in the next few months: moving again. Time scheduled for this is within the next 5 months give or take. We're hoping to find a decent place of our own for a little while, until our dalninuk moves out here, then the gods forbid: Drizzt, Rizzen and Eranil will all be under one roof.
Also, we've got some servers up and running folks with previews of our websites for certain lucky people to come check out, and yes, the newest version of SQ is hanging there too. If anyone that can access this blog is intrested you can go to http://dynasyncgateways.dyndns.org (which is my own personal domain server) to see them - just hunt around the buttons off the main portal page til ya find what you're looking for if you're the explorative type, otherwise here's what's behind all the buttons so far: 1.) My template temporarily called Beginning Computers - this is my newest started Dreamweaver project
2.) leads no where for right now
3.) Sil'in Qu'ellar (the start of the remake, but even this will be changing somewhat to a new template, and not everything is linked yet)
4.) Ivy Passions Graphics (my graphics site, all so far original work by me done in Adobe Photoshop and Jasc PSP8 & 9 - don't have too much done with this yet due to lack of time to sit in Adobe and create nifties)
5.) Portland Z24 (our official forum and Cold Fusion server site)
6.) leads no where for right now
And yes I'm open to comments and suggestions on the new place. My javascripting for the main portal page still isn't quite done. I still have yet to make logo's that will pop up in the central area when the buttons are rolled over on the left. The buttons will be clickable naturally... well, you'll see the effect when I get it coded. Which I planned on starting that tonight at some point. If the portal and sites seem slow folks, it's because it's all hosted on my workstation right now, and if I'm busy serverside on programming, naturally upload times are going to be a little slow, my AMD Sempron 64bit 2600+ can still only handle so much thinking! If you got a suggestion, question or comment, I guess post it for this entry or email me. I'll answer ya back ASAP.
Addio,
Drizzt 2005/12/29 The Long Wait...Vendui' all,
I know it's been a hella long time since I last was able to post anything in my journal. But damn, this past Christmas weekend was something different. Of all places to spend most of Christmas was in the hospital E.R. with my honey. He came down with a really bad infection and had to keep going back every 8 hrs for I.V. antibiotic treatment. At least now there's no more trips to the hospital, but they do have him on 1000 mg of Penicilin to combat what's left of the infection - bad thing is: it was cellulitis, the stuff that can cause gangerine in 24hrs flat if left to run free. For a while there I was real damn worried, stayed up for days on end practically just to make sure he was taken care of and comfortable. Goin' to work with that on the mind I was pretty distracted there for a few days... But on a better note, he's doing a lot better now. Still a little sore from all the massive swelling, but getting better TG.
On a brighter note, what bit of Christmas we did spend at home went fairly well. Riz made the killing this year, me alone I spent over $200 on him... all he asked for was a printer... well I ended up getting the Epson CX4200 copier, printer, scanner - all in one - thing, plus a little dresser thingie, a lfeece blankie and a matching pillow, ink refills for his printer, a cd label making kit complete with software and a lable refill pack and a few other odd-n-end things here and there, but it was mostly stuff he needed either for school or keeping thing organized in what little space we have available in our room. As for me I got a few things, a tripod for my cameras, a towel and washcloth set, a scarf and some stretch gloves, a bolo for my work key - its a lock scan card - a little earmuff type headband and a matching necksock, a bottle of Jack Daniels plus a baby stocking stuffer Jack Daniels, a necklace, a stocking full of goodies... and I know I'm forgetting things but hey that's what the Jack is for right? Oh, ha, just looked at some more, fancy body scubs - the kind that come in the jars... and I seem to be forgetting things again...
Anyway, I hope ya'all had good Christmas's, we did, despite the hospital thing.
Sorry I haven't had much time to sit and write lately, but my co workers - especially my supervisors - have discovered my talents for graphics and desktop publishing, and believe me they've been utilizing those skills of mine so I've been spending some time in the evenings working on "homework from work". Right now I have a couple more projects scheduled for homework from work. I hope to be able to have them done soon cos by the time I get home now days I'm literally mentally and physically exhausted and don't even want to look at a pc. Well, my Jack Daniels is starting to really kick in but good... I'm getting a case of the munchies. I'll see ya'all when I can abbillen. 2005/11/24 Happy Turkey Day Everyone!!Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
Hope you're all enjoying your holiday! For us right now we have only two people that have shown up, but there's a ton more yet to flow in throughout the rest of the afternoon, mostly family and friends. We planned on having dinner at around 4 this afternoon. Our kitchen is overflowing with food- a large turkey, a large ham, candied yams, 6 pies: pecan, mince meat, deep dish apple, cherry, and two pumpkin; and there's just a ton more food that I have no idea of what all is out there. And people are going to be bringing food also - yes more food! We're wondering where we're going to put it all, lol. Egads, I guess I'd better get my butt out of the bedroom and back out in the livingroom. Gajak abbillen! Enjoy your day!
2005/11/23 Drizzt, Rizzen & Eranil... Don't be afraid... be terrified!
To spurt a few details of the day... me and Riz picked up Eranil at the Gresham transit..(boring part).. we crammed him into the back seat of our car and stopped off at our house for a few moments. During this time, yours truly got picked up and body slammed onto my bed by Eranil AFTER I got my huggle! The big meanie kept picking on me too, so I poked him back, lol... our own running joke. We played around with the pcs a few and gabbed about magic cards and other stuff (he even got to meet Pandora, my snake, and my gabby kitty Cry baby) before taking off to Beaverton to Eran's motel room. While there, we gabbed some more (of course), me and Eranil wrestled around on the bed... I ended up getting pounced by the both of them... big meanies, they ganged up on me and nearly tickled me to death! And yet again Eranil found the oportunity to body slam me onto the bed, lol... I shoulda seen that coming too! The ONLY thing he forgot was the bowling ball!! Where's the ball man, huh?!! Oh wait, you left it at home... excuses excuses! Well anyway, we chilled there for a little while, waiting for it to get late enough in the evening to go scoping bars. The first one we went to - The Barracuda - at first wasn't open yet, so to pass the time we went to Kel's, it's an irish pub in downtown Portland located within easy walking distance of The Barracuda. We had a drink and a smoke there at Kel's before going back to the 'Cuda. Of which is a club. Inside they have two floors, complete with upstairs pool tables - 6 of them, an upstairs bar, fishtanks, and sectioned off areas with couches and coffee tables and cushy chairs - those spaces of which cost a whopping $200 to rent for an evening. There was also a half-level balcony for private parties. Over the giant dance floor hung a huge disco ball. One that was big enough I could stand up inside of. In the center of this particular room was a wrap around bar, set up in the middle was a giant tank with several clown fish and three baby barracuda's and a few other small odd fish - establishment mascots. In the next room was another wrap around bar that was against the wall instead of in the middle of the room. Here there were booths complete with built in tv's and there were also free standing tables throughout the rest of the floor. The place is pretty cool, we were amongst the very first there, but we didn't bother staying long. From there we headed back into Gresham and went to a bar Riz took me to directly after work the weekend before. This is the place that the former bassist from Hart does his karaoke dj'ing. He's a cool guy still, the prior weekend I was there he came up to my table and told me I had the face of an angel...
Eranil and Riz did their karaoke thing that night, me I stayed my ass planted at the table, lol! As the night went on, me and Riz got up a few times to dance. In between dances, the DJ announced some guys birthday and he played a few hilarious songs, and somehow in amongst all that Eranil managed to plant a big wet, slobbery kiss smack on my temple - gads, tried to wipe off but slobber clung! Had to tease him about that, cripes 15 minutes at least spent in trying to dry off!!
Heh heh, the next day when Eranil called me from his motel I told him about the little trip with Jenny from the bar - somehow he had seemingly "missed" the whole thing despite sitting right there the whole time - heh, caught NOT paying attention - BAD ULAPHIAN BAD!!!. I got the typical "damn you"'s and a few other playful comments typical of Eranil, lol! uhm, neener neener I guess? And one thing I've noticed, every time me and Riz go out, no matter where, I always end up "getting the girl" and him the guy, LMFAO!! Strange no? Absolutely hilariously funny? YES! I can only imagine what this Friday is gonna bring!
2005/11/18 10 hr days are finally over...........for now Cripes, this whole past week I've been pulling 10 hr work days... amongst it all I did manage to complete my business course and actually pass it with flying colors; and to tell you the truth, I don't know how... miracles be, I guess. So, now I'm back to 8 hr days. My work schedule will be changing yet again, just as to when and to what I'm not sure yet. I'll post it as soon as I get the chance.
I still haven't yet been able to even begin an opening journal passage for Drizzt yet. I'll have to go back to the thread and refresh myself before I even attempt to write something. So much has been happening I feel I've lost touch again. And yet again, it's getting damned late in the night, and unfortunately tomorrow isn't Saturday... aka: I have to get up early to go to work. Nighty nighty all. 2005/11/5 ACK! What a day! Well, today was the day I finally got my log in's for our primary system at work, and gads, since that point today I started wondering if I was going to get a break in edgewise, let alone lunch. Too hectic of a day, TG I don't have to go back til Monday...
Anyway, I finally got a post up on the forums at least. It's not my best piece of writing, but I guess it'll work. As far as Drizzt's first journal entry in here, I'm still trying to get that gumption... or him... to actually write something. If I wasn't so flaming tired and on the verge of sleep tonight I'd type up something. I'll see what comes tomorrow, hopefully I'll get enough peice to be able to get a start in Wordpad. Either way, I'm getting pretty frustrated with the delay... either someone else here has me doing things for them that I don't get any time for myself before I have to go to bed for work or I'm too flaming tired by the time I get home from work that I simply crash on the bed as soon as I get in the bedroom. GRRRR!!!!! May the weekends be fruitful I guess.
Well, either way, bwael isto all. Try not to get too far ahead of me in there, oks?!
Ah, one more thing... for anyone who's intrested... my cell for easy contact when ya need me is 503-820-1104 and I DO get text messaging and can get my emails on my phone, I've also got free long distance and free incoming calls at any time of day or night... easy way to text message me if you don't have a cell is to go to www.sprint.com and there on the front page is a place for sending texts... simply put in my phone number and text away!... I can also get email texts and I think for doing that is.... 5038201104@messaging.nextel.com If I don't answer right away, I'll get back ahold of ya either on break or at my lunch period.... or simply email/post when I get home. KK, nighty nighty all. 2005/11/2 Got the twins today... We finally got our cell's today. Unbelievably they came a day early. It took most of the evening to get the things set up for both our phones... numerous times I had to show Rich how to get to something through all the many menu's... but good grief, once he got the hang of a few of the features - little boy with a new toy syndrome hit and hit hard, lol! Either way, I've listed my mobile number in the msn messy list on that little card that opens when ya hover your mouse over the contact listing. I get free incoming and free long distance, text messaging, emails, walkie talkie, voice mail... so when I'm on the go I can at least be messaged if necessary, lol.
Aside from that, since last Friday I've had a really nasty case of the flu. Both yesterday and today I had a magor fever, although it actually broke while I was at work and I've been having a hell of a time breathing cos of all the fluid build up in my lungs. I've felt like utter shit cos of it. Even right now I'm dealing with immense pressure in my head making it feel like it will explode any moment now.
